On March 10th, 2017, branch of Institute of the Belt and Road was established by Jiangsu Normal University and University of the Punjab. The branch aims to strength the cooperation and exchange between Jiangsu Normal University and University of the Punjab, promote the intellectual support ability of Institute of the Belt and Road to the cooperation and development between China and Pakistan, expand the international cooperation areas with countries along the “Belt and Road”. It could be play a role in promoting the construction of Institute of the Road and Belt to be a key training think tank of Jiangsu province.

From March 8th to 12th, vice secretary of party committee of Jiangsu Normal University Prof. Hong Cen led a delegation group to visit University of the Punjab and COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. At University of the Punjab, the delegation group had a consultation with president and staff member. Prof. Hong Cen proposed a presentation about the construction of China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. On the behalf of Jiangsu Normal University, she also signed a cooperation contract with University of the Punjab. In addition, Prof. Hong Cen, Prof. Zhengping Shen and Prof. Massarrat Abid (Director of Pakistan Study Centre) jointly inaugurated the branch.

At COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, the delegation group received a gracious reception. Both of two sides had a fruitful discussion about China-Pakistan Business Forum, cooperation development of China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, as well as the exchange visiting.

The delegation group witnessed the establishment of Branch of Institute of the Belt and Road of Jiangsu Normal University in Pakistan and the friendship between two countries.
